Eternity was inspired by the ring, originally a gift from the Duke of Windsor to Mrs Simpson, that Calvin Klein gave to his wife, Kelly Rector, on their wedding day. A simple band of diamonds, it was inscribed with one word: Eternity. So it was for the Windsors, but not for the Kleins, who are now separated.
